Hi all,

I wanted to buy a new PC but my budget is pretty small :(

I have come up with the next PC and was wondering if anyone sees any problem or incompatibility. That would be soooo much appreciated guys... I have added the links to OC web pages just in case it is easier:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 AMD 770 (Socket AM2)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz (Socket AM2)
Memory: OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit
Graphics card: Gainward GeForce 9500 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Case: XClio Coolbox Midi Tower Case - Black (No PSU)
PSU: Gigabyte SUPERB 460w PSU

As you may imagine I don't want a gaming PC, but there are a couple of points that I am not really confident at and that would be very grateful if someone more experienced and wiser could give me some advice:

- Will the memory work at 1066MHz properly or downgraded to 800MHz?
- Is it really worth it a graphics with 256MB GDDR3 instead of a 512 DDR2?

Thanks a lot in advance guys, much appreciated!! :)

The PC builder on the site is also worth considering.
For £386.48 inc VAT I have just spec'd this:

- Sony Floppy Drive - Black
- Pioneer DVR-216DBK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (ST3160815AS)
- OcUK GeForce 9500 GT Extreme 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
- Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)
- Default CPU Cooler
- Asus Vintage V3-M2NC61P Barebones System - AMD64 (Socket AM2)
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.80GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail

Slightly lower spec CPU, but a better graphics card from what you listed and you can upgrade the hard drive for just a few extra pounds.

Also remember this would be profesionally built for you and the whole system under 12 motnh collect & return wrranty with OcUK. :)

I got this ist without GFX because you can easy add when you need to playing game.

CPU: Pentium Dual E2180 £49.22
PSU: Corsair TX650 £64.50 (a good one will last for you untill next upgrade)
RAM: 2x2Gb Corsair Twin XMS2 6400 £51.28
Board: Gigabyte GA-G33M S2L iG33 £60.50
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 640Gb £48.30

A you need is a case you're fancy and here you go. Total cost you £283.73 inc vat.
