NBA Live 09 / NBA 2K9

As there's not really much mention of them here, is anyone planning on getting NBA Live or NBA 2K9 this year? :) Both scheduled to be released this friday!

NBA 2K series was pretty much the pro evo of basketball games until last year, when EA took Live to a higher step again, from the demos Live is looking very good, 2k9 doesn't look too bad! Live pre-order has been shipped and 2k9 might be a rental from lovefilm sometime soon :D

Hopefully someone will be up for joining me on the court? :D
 
Been looking at getting 1 of these, but I hear mixed views as to which 1 is better.

Which one over all is better? EA?
 
I think its really down to personal preference, for me I loved NBA 2K6 and 2K7, but 2K8 and 2K9 just don't feel as good compared to thier Live counterparts.
 
Live does looks really good this year and some of the features look excellent.


Im a Live man myself so Ill prolly get that for my PS3. :)
 
the casual gamer likes Live but the 2K series is miles ahead for realism, the amount of sliders available in 2K is incredible and you can really tailor the game to play how you want......Live is and always has been pure arcade dunk fest.

Live08 was a disgrace but the demo of 09 is quite nice but still a bit too arcade like for me ...even though 2K9 will still be better.
 
2K8 was a real step backwards from 2K7 I think, it just felt rubbish, and none of the players looked as good as 2K7.
 
i think 2k8 was still a step forward especially for the isomotion control, that was crap in 2k7 but the game felt a little sluggish and restrained as a whole.

2k9 is a lot more alive and fun but still retains the sim aspect of the 2k series, visuals have improved a lot ...definitely crisper and a lot less aliasing.....and some of the facial/body textures on the players are amazing.
 
Ive played NBA Live 09, its utterly fantastic and has that pick up and play, be up for some games with peeps come Friday. It feels really intuitive as does NHL09 this year.

EA are really on their game.
 
Right ordered 2k9 (£25 quid new!) and I'll stick 09 on rental for now. If it's really that good I'll buy it but I expect 2k to steal the thunder.
 
i had Live 05 & 06 but after reading about 2K7 being better i bought that next and WOAH!! spanked the old NBA Live games but i'm really unsure about Live 09 & 2k9.

live looks good but the demo felt lacking but 2K9 just didn't play that well with me. maybe i've lost my touch :-/
 
ARGGHHH!! Damn Americans!!! lol

Just played the first online team match in Live, me and 2 guys, one who was whinging, whining and berating the whole team all match, passed all of 3 times and just ruined the match, when me and the other guy finally got us close, the other guy quit with frustration, I got us from 11 points behind to 2 points behind, 40 seconds left and the idiot throws a pass back into our half on purpose, then starts shouting "How do you like that, you ruined the damn game for our team!" And we lost by 2 cause of him! :(

Anyone still up for an OcUK team so I don't eat my own face with anger? :D
