Thinking of taking the girlfriend down London for the weekend for her birthday (weekend of the 21st of Nov)

Can anyone reccomend some nice hotels to stay in? Looking to spend £200-£300 max for 2 nights for the both of us.

I once took a lady to the Jumeirah Lowndes (i think thats how you spell it anyway) in Knightsbridge. She loved it.

Looks very nice... bit too expensive though unfortunatly. £300 is the max I can go to for 2 nights for the both of us :(

At the weekend you can often get good lastminute deals in hotels in the City, it's just as easy to get around, just hop on the tube and within 5-10 mins you're right in the middle of the West End, plus there's a surprising amount of sightseeing around there, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Borough market etc, not to mention all the cool buildings :)

That said, have looked on Lastminute and there's a bunch of 4* hotels for £200-£250 for the 2 nights which I'm sure would be great :)

I booked us through lastminute.com, im pretty sure it was about £150 a night over the weekend. Worth a check.

radisson Edwardian Leicester Square is nice, good location as well.
Wait for a few days before you need the room then look on laterooms.com, they always stick up room and breakfast deals inc vat, instead of the normal rate not inc vat and not inc breakfast :D

I always use the travelodge when i'm in London! Whats the point spending a fortune on a nice room when your gonna spend most of your day out and about?

Take the money you saved, go out and have a great time!

I recently stayed in the Grange City hotel. Its a 5* and our executive room overlooked the tower of london. I paid £135 a night. The best bit about this hotel was the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, plus it had a decent gym and was really well located.

Right, for some strange reason she said she either wants to go to London or now maybe Blackpool! Typical woman, can never make they mind up! (and why Blackpool, I dont know!)

Bit of a difference from London I know but does anyone know of any nice hotels up there? Again £300 tops for the 2 of us for 2 nights (if there are any that nice in blackpool :p)

Took my GF the other weekend to the Shaftsbury (:p) Hotel 4* or something about a hundred yards from Paddington station. Absolutely great rooms/service. Stones throw from the tube and other great places (hyde park etc).

Came to 210 pounds for the 2 nights via some form of hotel deals website.

Well we've booked a hotel in blackpool, thanks for the laterooms.com link! :)

It's a 4* hotel and would normally cost just under £500 for 3 nights but we've booked it for £198!
