Last time I posted here looking a motors it was the VW Tiguan - luckily I didn't buy one.....

Anyway going past the Local BMW Dealer this took my eye! Now from my very brief research (yes lazy git) this 335d could be rather thirsty, are the lesser engines any good in BMW's. I'm going from a Ford Focus and I want something reasonably quick that isn't going to hammer me for fuel. My Focus returns about 35mpg and this 335d seems to do 25- 30 if you're lucky! Anyway a couple of pictures

It's up for £21,500 and has 30k on the clock and this is the gumpth that's on the car.

Cream Beige Dakota leather, Black trim. high-gloss, Bluetooth phone prep, ISOFIX Child Seat System, Leather interior, Seat heating. front, Star Spoke Style 230 8/9Jx19, Sun protection glass, Automatic Gearbox, Sports Suspension, Remote Control Alarm, First Aid Kit & Triangle, Auto-Dim Interior Mirror, Elec Fr Seats + Driver Memory, Sports Seats, Park Distance Control (PDC) Rear, Rain Sensor, Xenon Headlamps, Headlamp Washer System, Automatic Air Conditioning, Dynamic Cruise Control, Extended Interior Light Package

I know jack about BMW's but love the shape and look of this car and will obviously grab a test drive to see if I like how it drives.

What are BMW dealers like - am I likely to be able to do a deal and again being naive on BMW's how does the price look for spec?

Pretty sure you could get more than 25MPG unless you drive with your foot planted everywhere, sliding sideways more often than going forwards.

Thats VERY nice and for 21k you cant go wrong. Just a shame it does not have satnav

Indeed, and stupid as it may sound I'd ignore it for that reason alone - it's well worth having and there are loads of 335d's around on the market to choose from.

Maybe he could get the dealer to fit it as a freebie?

My mates looking at getting a bmw. I keep telling him once he gets one, he won't want anything less than another or a merc, and the slipperly slope begins. I like the 335s.

The current 3 series coupe is one of the few new cars I really like the look of. Great looking things.

Buy BMW, Become Fox, Look down on all from your German Throne.

Has the ability to read a road atlas been lost amongst new generation? Satnav is not the reason not to buy a car. Somehow I regularly manage to find myself at the destination I want without it, it must be magic.

Don't see how satnav is such a big need.

Just write a list on a piece of paper fo the raods to aim for and your fine. Done that many a time.

I used to think exactly the same, until I started using satnav and realised how nice it is to just get in a car and go anywhere you want without having to be organised enough to check on a map, print a map, bla bla bla. Try driving from one side of London to the other with no sat nav. Easily doable, but 100% more stressful imo.

Funny how many people say this until they use satnav all the time.

I can get roughly where I want to go without satnav, and did for years, but being able to go to the door of the house you want to find in the middle of a housing estate where all the houses look the same = great.
