bit of a pickle, i know 4850 cards seem to be better, however ati warranties seem to be very short asus seems to offer 3 years warranty, bfg lifetime ie 10years.

Last ati card was 9800pro good card however after 2.5 years it broke down, loss of card, just wondering if any one might know if any ati manifacture has life time of 5 years plus warranty.
currently i have bfg 7900 gt had it for a long time, still going good, over the years i have a whole range of nvida cards all of which never broke, then i moved to ati and after 2.5 years card goes.
i heard Visiontek offer a lifetime warranty is this true?

with bfg cards i can sell it on and have piece of mind if it breaks down after i sold it on.

I know what your getting at but in the members market of this forum (you need to have 250 posts and be here for 3 months to see it im afraid mate ;)) there are cards being sold all the time, and BFG ones dont sell for that much more money if any.

Its one of them risks that you take when buying a 2nd hand card.

Just get the card with the warranty you think will last you until you upgrade, and dont let manufacturers sway you :)

ive already sold my card, just warranties come in handy if the person comes back to me.
On another note how do dx10 games run on old games, the game i have in mind is tribes 2 a 10 year old game it seems to run fine on dx 9 however the change to dx 10 might screw it up, and still want to play it:D.

dx10 is only enabled on the newer games , eg: crysis and call of juarez.

dx10 will not affect tribes , it will downgrade to whichever dx it used at the time.

Hope this helps :D

Tribes 1 and 2 best games ever made, bf/ut/quake/cod series dont really last long get bored, always return to t1&2.:p maybe t1&2 requires skill other games just point and shoot.
If you havent heard of it you utube it, you'll see how much fun people have.:D
