Hey guys,
I just tried out my new toy, a socket power meter from a cheap supermarket for about £7. Heres some things I've tried so far.
Eee laptop (700) - 30W max
Amd system 3800 X2, 8800GT - 270W max
Intel system [email protected], 8800GT SLi - 320W max
The tool also records how many kwh you've used in a period of time, and you can add your price for kwh to see how much money on energy you've used. Pretty cool!
EDIT: worth noting that I'm only measuring the power cable of the computer, other things like monitor, sound system etc is not included.
EDIT2: If I wanted to power the eee using only solar power, the cost of the panel and inverter etc would be in the region of £200
