Want to spray my brake calipers red.

Hi all I want to spray my calipers red on my motorbike is it just a case of take of drain of any brake fluid and spray them. Or do I need special paint todo so?

Hammerite will do the job, you'll have less work to do with a brush too. Spraying you'll have to remove the calliper, possibly strip parts from it and mask up.

Hammerite smooth red does a nice job, too.

Best using a really durable heat-resistant paint I would imagine like http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8205. Give them a good clean over with some degreaser first to get off all the brake fluid.

Red calipers never look good. Try and get an OE colour.

Black or silver imo.

Silver needs freshening up frequently though. So mine next time will simply be painted black.

If you want them done get them powdercoated, much better finish.

Hammerite red is rubbish - looks orangey red over time.

Will also look ridiculous on a motorbike.

if it's paint then black or silver, so the rubbish finish isn't so noticeable. If you want a colour then it has to be powder coating to get a good finish

I guess I shall leave it standard then, I thought it would look alright, you never know till you have done these things!
