its a fun MMo heavily focussed on PvP , you pick a server then a side 'Order' or 'Destruction' , then you go off into the world and beat up on everything ...

there is normal solo questing , 'PQ' Public Quests that have a few stages to complete but give nice rewards or you can mix it up by entering RvR sections of the map in which you can attack or be attacked by the opposite faction whilst trying to take 'keeps'

its a really fun game with tons to do, of all the MMo's ive played i'd say its defo worth the purchase and sits 3rd behind Star Wars Galaxies,Lord of The Rings Online for quality and community.

anyways its nearly a month old and runs quite well, there are a few bugs and class imbalances but thats a given in any new game... overall 8/10 and worth subbing to ..

What's Sea of Dreams like? I've just ordered this and liked the sound of Sea of Dreams due to it being an Open-RVR server. :)

Yeah good fun, there's a large amount of users but it's never stupidly busy apart from the weekend.

Unfortunately we've gone two nights in a row where our guild(s) that has combined over 600 members, only had around 60 online =/

Destruction normally out number Order, but we seem to be a lot more organized than them.

Our Guilds, Soul Collectors and Soul Reapers is completely open and anyone can join. We've got n00bs and hardcore players as well so you'd fit in no matter where you are.

Guild and Alliance chat is always going, with plenty of people having a laugh.

We do regular keep raids and keep defends, we took 4 T2 keeps last night and had a battle with Dest that went on for about 3 hours across three maps (ellyrion, shadowlands and troll country).

We've got Naked Public Quests tonight to boost the morale of the guild, for those that are getting tired with just keep raids etc...

No weapons, no clothes... Just naked PQing haha :D

Good to know, think I'll be Order then so you can hit me up with an invite; always nice to have people to group with. :)

What are bright wizards like, by the way? They sound fun, from what I've read; so unless there's something terribly wrong with them, I'll probably roll one.

I'm a level 19 BW and there's two things I can say about them... they're good fun to play, but they're freaking loads of us :p

They require a little more skill to play than your average class, you've got to watch how much combustion you've built up otherwise you start burning yourself and eventually explode.

A lot of BW newbies tend to just spam the fireball button which generally gets you nowhere fast, it's a powerful spell but takes a long time to power up. DoT attacks are key, using things like Sear for quick attacks and using Fire Cage to trap lots of destruction helps a lot too.

BW's die incredibly easy, they're your standard long range attackers, if you go up against anyone in melee combat you're more than likely going to lose.

Personally, a brave and intelligent BW can't do any wrong. Running in head first into a group of destruction and trapping them in a Fire Cage, legging it away while the rest of the group unleash hell on them gets you a lot of respect as a player quickly.

You've got to remember that since WAR focuses heavily on PvP, as a Bright Wizard you need to constantly stay with a group. The damage a BW can do when his combustion is at 100% is phenominal, I regularly go around with a friend of mine on the server who is a healer (called Tortrix) my attacks and his healing makes us an awesome team :)

Just to put a swerveball in though, the Sea of Dreams server is low on tanks & healers.

If you join let me know your name, and add Kryler to your friends list and I will add you to the guild. Our only requirement is for you to turn up to the guild events (usually once a week), we do random keep raids every other day but we stick stuff on the calendar for everyone to join.

We're not a hardcore guild, and realise not everyone can be on 24/7... but we do take it seriously. If you're regularly not turning up to calendared events and missing our big raids you'll get demoted and eventually be kicked from the guild.

Same as any other guild you'll come across really :)

just brought it.. not installed yet.. will do tonight, just wondering the different roles each character plays..

like Tanks... Healers... Damage... Hybrids ?

I see that you guys are using a patch to block the intro and movie for the game....but I can't even get the movie working, it's just one black screen :(

Has anyone else got problems with the cinematics?

Yup I don't have any intro move. Downloaded it from D2D, can't say it really bothers me though.

Same sort of thing, I got mine from EA digital.

Does anyone have a link to what the intro video looks like? Im quite curious...as I have not seen it!

I have seen the trailers on the first post of course....but is that the same as the game cinematic? + google is not my friend I get links to the trailers as per the first post of this thread.

Level 23 Black Orc now, it's starting to get even better.
Managed to do first keep raid which I ended up being the front line, some people where as high as 30 I think (I had that buff that took me to 26 or 28) but I was tearing through people like paper, which is odd because I was never like that. Then again I hadn't pvp'ed much since about 16.

Biggest tip I have for a Black Orc is to get two sets of gear when you level, get some primary str gear with weapon skill as a secondary skill for two handers/soloing/questing and some pretty unusually sick damage in pvp (for a tank class). Going path of brawler and using the tactics, can aoe knockback mobs/people which give you a few second of respite, another aoe attack then a morale aoe... pulling up to 5/6 quest mobs a time solo to chop em up!!!

Then for tanking hero's and defensive, get yourself some defensive gear, I try to get toughness over health, ie if I have 16 tougness or 80 health/8 toughness gear,i'll take the latter. with the tactics you get that ups your health I think at my level thats 800hp extra and 80 toughness, so I have about 1.7k armor and 500toughness reduing dps around 100 each.

I was tanking multiple people in pvp and was a major distraction for a raid force, couldn't touch me at all.

1 on 1 with pretty much anyone ends up in me just sitting there like a brick ****house. :)

Only anoying thing is changing gear all the time, hopefully someone makes a mod to select armor profiles, oh and the limited bag space at lower levels.

Black Orcs are hilariously fun to play at times too.
Down side? Rolling on public quests and keeps seems to get worse as you become a better tank, I think points are decided by how much you get hit by a Hero mob/Champ/Keep Lord and when they don't touch you because of so many Blocks/weaksauce damage your points get worse and..well you don't get loot.

Up to about 20 I was pretty much also top of the list, even soloe'd a few PQ's to the end. At 23 a bar from 24 it's tapering off :( Even when i'm the sole reason for winning the PQ because there's no healers or tanks, and i'm self sustainable....no loot, great.

We'll see how it is higher up!

Ohh...not to mention being the target of half a warband and taking it like a true orc, (thank you healers).
Maybe I shouldn't dye my armor yellow & Purple

Hi all, ive just built my new rig and have installed vista 64 home premium and warhammer online. It runs fine to the patcher but one I click on play it just bombs, any ideas? im new to Vista so is theres anything I have to do? I also have the same problem with Crysis. WAR ran fine on my old machine under XP also.

Cheers.

When you installed Vista, did you install any motherboard drivers? Vista will go ahead and install its own crappy ones without telling you, but you really need to download the exact ones for Vista 64 from the mobo manufacturer website and install them. Solves a host of problems :)

They intro movie is basically the trailers we saw before the game was released.

The one with the story and the epic battle between order and destruction, where you see the different classes do their things etc...

Really starting to enjoy this game :)

Looking for a guild to join, I'm a level 5 Swordmaster (lvl soon to change over this week) and play on Karak-Azgul - Order. I'm pretty new to the game but I am learning things quite quickly, would love to participate in a guild and defend/raid some keeps.

Cheers :)

i have a level 21 BW and ive shelved it for now, theres too many of them about as they are the easiest class to play and dominate with, i feel dirty using it atm ... they seriously need their DoTs looking at .. having said all that if all you want to do is sit at the back hitting the same 'win' button over and over with no challenge they are great ]8-

much prefer playing my Destruction chars on the Dron server atm, Black Orcs are cool, Witch elves insane fun and Zealots seem to be most in demand classes ,,, shame they have really poor dps (yes i know they are healers) because solo play takes ages to bring Npcs down !

games like crack cocaine tbh ..

Thats actualy one of the first things I do for new installs ;)

Funny thing is though, I reinstalled it and it ran fine for all of 2 minutes before it crashed, it now refuses to start again even after restarting the PC.

Really getting frustrated to hell now, I might just strip off Vista and stick with XP if this is going to be the case with games.
