Erm, that was a racist comment? And also a stereotypical one?
It wasn't a racist comment as Islam isn't a race or racially restricted. (The fact that the bomber was white, english born and bred and had converted demonstrates that).
As for stereotypical, possibly, but in this case it was also entirely accurate.

ALmost me too, but I read the news just before. Hopefully the other prisoners will give him a torrid time. I bet he'll get at least 7 years for that.

Same here! Threw me for a second thinking it happend again.
He was clearly manipulated; the man is autistic, for crying out loud! He should be placed in an appropriate mental health institution, not a prison.
Within hours of the Exeter blast, officers took the unusual step of making a statement about the bomber to the bewildered people of Devon.
They explained that Reilly was a man with learning difficulties.
Deputy Chief Constable Tony Melville told reporters: "We believe he was preyed upon, radicalised and taken advantage of."
Beeb.
Institutionalise him by all means, but at least make sure it's for his own good as much as anyone else's.
