can you survive walking down a hill that is 600ft high? drop doesn't necessarily mean free fall through the air then smack into ground. most likely steep ass hill, some serious bumpage and some rolling at some point. Pretty damn horrible I'd imagine.

Peruvian buses are mental. I remember spending 6 hours in one where half the passengers had brought their cattle onboard with them and the driver was doing 30 around hairpin bends on cliff edges.

I would hardly compare "walking down a 600ft hill" to "plunging down a 600ft ravine in a bus".

I think what he means is that it isn't as if they fell free-fall for 600ft, nobody would survive that sort of impact. They slid down the side of the ravine for 600ft, I'm sure they still went down it pretty fast though, and must have been terrifying. So the bus crash was the result of highway robbers? The article was a bit poorly written....
