Scrap Ball Rally

A mate at work is sorting out a "poor mans" European rally

. The only limits for our choice of wonderful motor vehicle are:

- It must cost less than £250
- Engine size must be less than 1.4 petrol or 1.5 diesel

Suggestions please?

get an old 8v corsa 1.2/1.4 lol

No, you didn't make it up, the XND is 1.5D and albeit agricultural the engine is nigh on indestructable.

Corsa or Nova 1.5TD. These can be chipped to quite stupid numbers.

I'd go for the 1.4P over the D, very fun little car. 205 would be my choice though.

wedge-shape Rover 214/414. Plenty of room, comfy compared to a Citroen AX or a Nova and the like, 100bhp and 40mpg, plenty of them around for that price too.
