My personal experience is that they don't, however a friend of mine swears that they do, he's been with more girls since he had a beard like Ron Jeremy than when he was in uni with a baby face.

Depends, i used to clean shave and had some very good looking women. Have a beard now, and get some very good looking women.
But maybe thats just because when i have the beard, i look "rugged" rather than "messy", helps being 6ft5. Some guys cant pull it off, think of it like Sean Penn vs George Clooney. A girl friend of mine says she loves george with or without it, but differently so she says. But she only likes sean clean shaven.
I asked an ex of mine the same question once, she said she doesn't mind but she appreciates a man who can look good clean shaven and with facial hair.
