I just noticed, I put Star Wars in thread title and not Star Trek, doh!

Not a Star Trek fan, never watched it but I might watch this film when it's released, since it's the dude who made Lost and Cloverfield. :D

Anyway, stumbled on these pictures of the film, thought I'd share as I'm sure theres a lot of fans on here!

I like how star trek is concistent. Even just a picture makes me cringe.
The shot of them all in the bridge looks extremely er.. cant think of the word.
Basically it looks like its going to get crucified(i hated it anyway) for the newer generation, hollywooded up, it looks more like thunderbirds/stormbreaker kind of kids film from that shot.

Considering Lost and Cloverfield was **** not holding out much for this but how hard is it to mess up some sci fi plot based around a planet and aliens.

Simon Pegg does not do serious and sylar looks weird.

I'm with you on Cloverfield....but Lost  It's one of the greatest TV shows ever!

I see Simon Pegg in a screenshot an I'm expecting him to get hit with a spade in the next frame :D

I reserve judgement until I actually see it, but I don't think its going to be any good.

Using a fresh set of cast with actors everyone knows about can ruin a movie based on an old franchise. I prefer seeing new/unseen faces. You're too used to seeing some of these actors in other roles.

Honestly, I hope it's good as do we all but some of the pictures make me think Lost in Space and that was just...... meh :/

At least the special affects might be good.

Who is the Matt LeBlanc lookalike supposed to be? Please don't say Chekov or McCoy because he is way too tall for either.

Bugger, I always though trying to re-invent the show like this would be a rubbish idea and these pictures are not reallt inspiring much hope that I was wrong. I'll still wait to judge it until after I've watched it but I still believe they should have left well enough alone as I don't think even the original cast could have pulled off something like this.

Why couldn't they have just made a new film based around a new crew in a new ship, would it have been so difficult?

It looks like all the consoles are made by mac, I wonder what the odds are everyone, walks around with the future version of ipods.

Why does the Vulcan look angry?
