Looking to get my dad a tag for his xmas, but im not sure Where to get one from for a decent price (3-400).

you will struggle to get any Tag new for that price, you will get a Formula 1 for about 450 iirc

i was looking at Formula 1's before i got into watches and found out tag's aint that good for the price really but anyway thats another story, back to my point-the prices of these have shot up recently like you say you could pick on up in a high street shop for £450 or there abouts, i was walking round town the other day looking at watch shops and i seen one of the chrono F1's and the price was £795!. theres better watches out there for similar prices's

You could try Watchfinder.co.uk & Swisswatchesdirect.co.uk. I thave used them both in the past & with a little negotiation you can get a little more off the marked price.
