Does anyone know where to get your steering wheel re-leathered? Whilst at the dealers today I was looking around their showroom cars and really like the feel of that matt leather they now use and wanted to know if it’s possible to re-leather using that particular leather!

I did Google but found little information.

Cheers!

Have you see how much a new multifunction sports steering wheel costs?! :p

they cost £300, I know because I got a new one fitted courtesy of the RAC :D

And a retrim is possible, search google :D

I sold my Shiny multifunction sports steering wheel at auction and got a new one.

Upgrade cost about £120 after the sale of my old one.

How much was the new one can I ask? Main dealer I’m guessing too ?

Also was the removal and fitting an easy task?

Cheers!

Think it was £210 from AGE Styling in sweden from their Ebay shop.:)

Take a look and do a search...Just had a look myself and he has 74 BMW Steering wheels. He was great.

Took it to a BMW indy in my dinner hour and they fitted it for 20 quid :p

My wheel doesn't really need recovering (it's not faded or slippy or anything), I just wanted to re leather it with a more matt leather like new cars come with as I much prefer the feel of it over the standard leather on the e46 wheel!

Sell your old one.

How much do you think getting it fitted with new leather would be?

You paid to have a steering wheel fitted?!

Yeah,

Didn't fancy disconnecting my battery and if doing it connected the air bag going off in my face.

Worth 20 quid of anyone's money!

Plus I CBA with doing it.I'm lazy and impatient I wanted it doing as soon as the wheel was delivered to work. So nipped up the road got it fitted and listed my old one on ebay all within my dinner hour:p

mrk, yours will have been matt when it was new. Because your car has spent its life doing short trips around town it's been worn nice and smooth through lots of low speed cornering.

Low mileage for the win :p

It's not the same matt as the new cars in dealers though, it's a completely different feel! the e46 didn't come with that kind of leather!

The cars I was feeling it it today were the 135i sport and the 330d coupe :S
