I foolishly unplugged connector plug under the seat of my girl friends coursa when trying to retrieve some loose change. When I plugged this back in I see a red warning sign on the dash that relates to the air bag. I presume I unplugged and replugeged the airbag, but how can I get rid of the warning, she’s not happy and wants to take it to a garage, which I will have to pay for, anyone know if I can reset it?

Tried disconnecting the battery?

It's a long shot but this will reset the ECU so it might not think the airbag will have ever been disconnected.

if the battery is connected at the same time the airbag is disconnected, it will throw up the warning light. The only way to get the warning light off is to get someone, such as a dealer, to turn it off using Tech1

£30 or so at a guess, might be worth telling your friend that if the car crashes the airbags now won't work until the airbag system is reset.

frigit!

i will try the battery reset, and if not will have to take it to the garage then as don't want her driving around with it off

When it came up on my volvo i was told it in no way affects the operation of the system. All airbags would still fire off no problem

Not what i've been told, cause a fault has been detected in the system it will no longer fire to stop it going off without warning.

Much like if the ABS or TCS / ESP systems detect a fault they turn themselves off.

yea that's my understanding of it too

My throttle cable on one of my minis snapped one day. I repaired it with a bit of shoe lace which got me home, although it's weird using your hand to accelerate.

When I got home, I had a look at it, and ended up fixing it for good with a bit of electrical wire and a block connector :D

This is not the thread you are looking for :)

Disconnect the battery, unplug the connector again, clean up the contacts, reconnect, wait 20 minutes, then reconnect the battery.

Often the lights come on when something fails a self test, which a poor pretensioner connection would do. Just leave the battery off for a bit to see if it clears when it retests itself.
