Our old 36" Sony CRT is now flickering like crazy so it's time for a new one.
What is the best possible TV we can get for the budget of £500?
I will be using my XBOX360 on it so HD ready would be good if possible, but I'm afraid my knowledge of TV's is slim to none so I'm completely open to suggestions / education!

Cheers.

Plasma = Panasonic TH37PX80 (over budget but lots of people on here swear by it)
LCD = Toshiba 37CV505DB = Tosh owner here & its served me well for 3 years now, + the fact I used to sell tham as well.

Thanks for the suggestions Grimley.
Over budget isn't an option at all, things are tight right now.

*EDIT*

Just seen that Panasonic is only £60 over budget...I'm sure I can stretch that far!
Is plasma better than LCD?

Depends what you'll be using it for. If it's primarily for gaming get an LCD, for everything else get a Plasma.

As it stands you won't find a better value TV than the TH37PX80 :)

It's for TV and a little bit of Xbox when I'm bored of my PC :)
My mum will be the main viewer and I'll use it for DVD's too.
Only issue is it doesn't come with Freeview, so I'll have to buy a freeview box (current TV has it built in).

Awesome, well that's the one that's sitting in my living room right now :D
Love it - just need an HDMI cable for my sexbox now.

Hey Mr Six, I am just about to buy this tv, can I ask where you got yours from? I was thinking of getting it from Littlewoods Direct.
