You must be insane if you buy this!

A bit expensive, but an important step in typing technology. Considering that EVERY SINGLE KEY has a 65k colour screen built in, it's certainly worth the money. ;)

I'd get it for the sheer hell of having it, really. If you're very, very rich, it's a must have bit of kit. I'll just stick with this keyboard I saved from the College skip!

have they made a wireless one, if so how much is it :)

EDIT: i prefer corded myself but for that price i'd expect 'MUCH MORE' :p

I thought that was a typo when I saw the price like they had added an extra digit by mistake. Then I read what it did. Wow...cool idea but I doubt it cost half of that to make. Ridiculous price really.

Every button on the keyboard (or, more precisely, a module with a moving cap, a microchip and a display) is easy to remove in order to clean or replace.

how much are the 'replacement' keys then :D

For some reason I read it wrong and saw it as around £100 rather than £1000, maybe my eyes tried to shield me from the horror. You could buy a cheap scrambler for that and have the time of your life lasting around some fields. In fact, a mate of mine found a off road buggy thing with a suzuki bandit 600 engine in it for £300, he managed to get it down to £250. He then proceeded to buy a field cheaply from and wallah, immense amounts of fun for under a grand. He didn't tell me how much the field cost, he just said the buggy and field cost under a grand. That is fantastic. This is not, this is allowing your wallet to get viciously raped with no mercy.

I'm no real charity man but thats a waste, would rather send £1000 to africa then have a pointless keyboard that is probably useless for gaming and i will destroy in about a year.

As a concept i really like the idea. It does look a bit clunky but maybe as the screen technology gets better they will be able to slimline it a bit more.

Imagine the possibilities though... games such as wow could have hotkeys that animate and "blink" when cooldowns are done etc... it could really help with certain games.

Of course the price now is silly but as an idea i think its good. When the technology becomes cheaper and easier to do then i think this could well be the future of gaming controllers ( ie built in colour animated screens that can show controls differently for each game ).

The keys are also OLed's so will die after about two years.

It sleeps after a couple of minutes to increase the life apparently.

I reckon it's a brilliant piece of kit and I'd love one, but obviously not at that price!

Fair play to ukdave for getting one imported cheaper, seems he's saved over 300 notes too. I know it's a lot of money but I can't help but feel that if no-one was prepared to pay the initially extortionate prices then the tech might never filter down to us poor peeps.
