Hey folks,

A new case is now long overdue I never fell in love with the P180 the same way I did with the P160 and I always promised that one day I'd bite the bullet and treat myself to a Lian LI, That day is today!

Ok first of all this wont be an entirly new build as Im waiting on the new socket and Gpu's before I upgrade again. The system as it is now(see sig) is more than happy with 99% of the games out there atm and the Graphics card has never wavered even though its been constantly at 710mhz.

I will however be updating the cooling and the hard drives which I think is the systems biggest weak point atm.

Ok the main aim of this project is to get a good looking, cool and reliable PC thats neat, tidy and easy to work on. There will be the usual mods of course window, rads a little Uv maybe to but I wont be doing anything ground breaking or even new (and I make no apologies for this).

The project will be split into 2 parts,

Part 1, Getting the gear in and getting all the windows and Rad vents cut. The whole system will run on one PA120.3 in this stage.

Part 2, The gear will all come back out and the internals will be powder coated after this a second rad (PA120.2) will be added which will cool the NB and GPU. At this point I plan to switch down to 3/8" tubing to ease congestion:)

So without further delay heres some pics!

Fans are wired on the Pa120.3 now :)

Ive come across a couple of niggles the first being i cant have the HD cage in the bottom 3 Bay slots as it protudes further into the PC than I expected and Im mounting the pumps down there so Ill have to have it higher up.

The second being is Im going to have to run elbows out of at least 1 of the rads which I wouldnt mind but nowhere has them in stock:P. Still as Im running on one rad for the moment its not a great calamity.

Im also stuck on what to do with the rad vents, I have bought a 120.3 rad grill but also I quite fancy having 3 120mm blow holes with some custom mesh behind? Opinions greatly valued on this one!!!

Looking really nice mate. :p

I think the custom mesh on blow holes adds some of your own personality to the project, where as the grill just looks the same as everyone elses.

Yes a good point indeed, Other advantages are the blow hole trim will stop any vibrations and also provide a good seal (hopefully).

Ive been racking my head for a way to mount the rad in the bottom of the case as it needs to be raised by around an 1 1/2" but luckily while scouring the local DIY store for inspiration I came across these 240v electrical socket backs (sorry dont know real name for them) they have threads inside to bolt them to the floor of the PC and also you can punch the holes out which may be usefull for running cable through.

I wont be nailing the Radiator to the PC this time I found some of this!

you can get black plastic "project" boxes which are also great for that kind of thing

Yes had cosidered this but these were just the right height and cheap although I will definatly be cosidering this option for mounting the second rad as I want it sit a little lower:)

konam4 No more nails is holding a rad? :O Where is it going?

In the bottom, pretty normal Im just using the double sided to stick it to the 240v box (Ive just tried some of that tape btw and omg its strong)!

Im hoping to pick up the hole saw for the fans tommorow along with one for the tubing gromets. Then work can start in earnest!

nice case i wanted one b ut then i relised lianli have put the motherboard tray back the other way round and that ruins it for me

Looking good so far. I want to water cool my V2010 but i'm scared i might damage it when fitting the rad. I've only done minor mods before.

I'm not too sure where i would put the rad though with my case being quite full as it is. Guess i'll think that through once i can actually afford it :D

Some progress Stage 1 is almost complete, I still have to cut the window and fan holes but I now have the Holesaw so work will commence asap.

The pics below are just build pics shes up and running now anyway:)

Phase 2 should start in a couple of weeks time this includes powder coating internals, fitting second loop, switching down to 3/8 tubing. Im thinking about blood red and black for the two loops with opposing coils :D

As always comments/suggestion are very welcome!
