Im not a fan of Hopkins at all. But you have to give kudos to the 43yr old. Maybe the higher weight was too much for Pavlik.

I think Pavlik has been in to many wars. He has taken a lot of hard shots over his past few fights. Maybe he aged over night who knows.
When Jones beats Calzaghe who would have thought the next legitimate fight would be Jones vs Hopkins 2 lol.

Pavlik was awful, no jab, very slow and totally outfoxed by the old master, he's not a light heavy and should move down and never fight at the heavier weight again.
Hopkins though was superb and had Pavlik in trouble a few times.

Shows that Calzaghe win against Hopkins was a lot better than it might have first appeared!

Just goes to show how good Calzaghe is. I felt sorry for Kelly why did he take fight? Larry Merchant was right he should have never taken the fight. Hope Joe beats Roy now.

I suppose he thought Hopkins was over the hill and a soft touch and also it would give him good leverage to goad Calzaghe into a fight if he KO'd Hopkins he could say how much better than Joe he was cos he actually took him out.
The executioner had other ideas though! Amazingly the big money fight for Calzaghe now should he keep going would be a rematch with Hopkins! He'd be nuts to take the fight though he only just squeaked the first one anything could happen second time around.
Could see him being tempted though if Hopkins would fight at the Millenium Stadium in a big money finale in front of his home fans.

If Joe beats Roy in the USA I think he will have a rematch with Roy in Cardiff and that will be the last fight of his career. Roy and Joe seem to get on great outside of the ring and as they are promoting the fight themselves they will make a lot of money.
