hey i'm living in a basement room. I've been looking to get a sofa so I can watch tv play on the xbox and stuff but there staircase down is really narrow and a sofa (even a small one) won't fit down here. Any alternatives I know there's those blow up sofas but I can't see them being comfy enough to sit on if i'm gonna be sat on it for a few hourse.
Suggestions to an alternative would be appreciated. :)

There must be some that you can buy that split up in to much smaller pieces for easy moving around?

How about a futon?

A cheap one will be pretty uncomfortable but you might get one second hand, which you can then make a bit more comfortable with other cushions and stuff. Most futons you can dismantle so easy to get down the stairs.

That's what I'd have said. They can be had for good prices and if you get a thickish one, they're no different to sit on.

Massive bean bag looks appealing. Had a look at a futon but it wasn't comfy. Trying to buy second hand to save money (student you see)

I wonder if it's possible to make a giant bean bag. The little foam balls can't cost that much. I could get the girlfriend to sew some fabric. Could be onto a little project here.

Sofas can normally be taken apart quite easily. I've an ikea leather sofa which I have to take the arms off to get in and out of its current room; there's just two bolts holding each arm in place.

You know what? I know we got a dangerous job to do here, but... I'm taking this. I'm taking this couch.

I got it, I know... okay, okay... Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna take the cushions off, unscrew the legs, take the mattress out and this whole thing is gonna be a lot simpler. It's easier than we're making it.

Ikea all the way. Most come flat-packed.

I remember trying to get a sofa up the stairs of a maisonette that I was renting. Managed to scrap all the wall paper and still couldn't get it up the stairs. My flatmate and I spent 3 months sitting on the floor before we finally ventured to Ikea.

Just make sure you make it tough, or you'll have little bean balls everywhere!
