F1 DVD's... Do any "old" ones exist?

Hi,

Recently I'm becoming more interested in F1. I first remember watching F1 when Schumacher and Hakkinen were fighting for the top spot, and since then I've gradually watched F1 with more and more interest.

Recently I've been reading the F1 threads in here and finding all the youtube videos of old races or events (Such as Senna's stunning lap at Donnington and some of Schumacher’s dirty tactics, etc).

From this, I've been searching to see if any F1 DVD's have been released (Possibly with full complete seasons...) but I've not had any luck... Especially not with the old ones which are more of an interest (I obviously wasn't around for many of them). Even the later seasons that do have DVD's seem pretty disappointing with seemingly a rather brief season review.

This got me thinking - Loads of these videos are on youtube and I'm sure somebody didn't "rip" them all the way back then... So these DVD's must exist somewhere?

Can anybody point me in the direction of any F1 DVD's?

Cheers.

PS. Mods, I've put this in motors as I think these guys will have the best answers to this! :) Would appreciate it if this could be left here.

Duke video is worth a nose too. Don't have a URL to hand but they are the largest motorsport video company out there and tend to have most videos/DVD produced.

Thanks for the links.

Were any DVDs made with the whole race weekend on, or at least full race and maybe qualifying? Might be nice to see the complete season of some of the older ones I've missed out on! Wouldn't like to consider the price though, how many DVD's a full season would be over :o

Cheers.

I have digital copies of a fair few seasons from all through the 90s and a couple from the 80s :)

Friday practice + qualifying - 1 disk
Saturday Practice + qualifying + Sunday Practice - 1 disk
Sunday practice + race - 1 disk

Apparently. ;)

I'm suprised myself that the old VHS reviews haven't been converted to dvd yet. I have the VHS ones from 82-99 and gave up then because of the dvd era.

I've been waiting years for them to release them, i've even thought of getting them converted myself.

I didn't pay for them in the first place mate. They are around...

I've got 1990-current in pretty much complete format, unsure it's 100%.

84-90 are available and the archives are being worked backward progressively. Seems like a guy is just digitizing tapes he has made.

Coverage was apparently sporadic prior to 80s so season reviews are available digitally for all seasons in the 70-80.

Prior to 70 is a serious struggle.

Got highlights from a 1955 race in Aintree which is pretty awesome though :)

I would give my fapping arm for a DVD of the 1998 Belgium GP at Spa. It was right about the time I started properly watching F1 and It was just epic!

Hxc, Flibster,

Care to tell me where you got them from? I'd be interested in hearing from you; Email in trust :)

Cheers.

EDIT: Still, suprised that full seasons are available officially... I'm sure they'd cost a bit but I'm also confident a fair few would sell!!

The season reviews are just what I am after, much for the recap of last season and **hopefully** the success of our man Lewis for this season.

Also as you've said, youtube is a great place to watch many, many old skool races and tidbits.

They arn't available officially. They are just "available". :) Email me if you are still interested.

Skeeter: Check your email.
