What is the worst, nightmarish system you've ever worked on?

The one I'm currently working on 
. It's a combination of several ex-developers, ASP, ASP .NET, a fairly un-optimised database design, complex calculations and crystal reports.
Myself and one of the devs (he went off to do other things but is still contactable if needed) have been cleaning it up as we go along but it's far from perfect.

A webshop my current place did years ago before the web department existed. They started as a design agency and the websites were done by a guy who'd 'done a bit of HTML'. In frontpage *cries*.
Basically it was a webshop where the database was only used to store transactions, all the products - over 500 of them - each have their own HTML page and no CMS to administer it at all.
It's still live and it's a nightmare to update. Basically the client wont spend the cash to update it and we're not going to do it for free so it'll probably go on for a few years yet.

Finishing off a custom ecommerce website that had gone through 3 (bad) developers already. It was a semi-object-orientated php ajaxy mess with obscure database layouts and comments consisting mostly of swear words. Eugh - it went weeks over schedule, but admittedly the front end does work rather well.
