UFC 89 **SPOILERS**

I watched this for the first time last night, my local got Setanta for the recent internationals.

Is it normal for such a fat guy to fight like him from Donny? He was wiped out in just over a minute IIRC.

What was all the booing about?

No it's not normal for such a fat guy to be fighting 250+lb and only 5'10".

And the booing typical idiotic British fans. And i use the term fan loosely.
90% who go, know nothing about mma. And just go to see someone get knocked out. And when it does not happen they boo.

Overall not that great of a event though. If you thought that was a ok event keep watching, as there are much better ones than that.

I did prefer the second fight with the two fighters that both wanted to stand toe-to-toe just about. I'm not enough into it to appreciate the technical stuff.

That choke tapout was nice though!

I watched that Bisbing fight, he looked technically superb and had the perfect fight plan.

The question is what's next for him a shot at the unbeatable Anderson Silva? I heard there could be talk of that happening. Can't see him beating Silva though, he isn't good enough, unless he gets lucky with a shot. Then again i do not think anyone can beat Silva although I'd love to see St Pier fight him, but Silva is bigger.

Well Bisbing is meant to be fighting the winner of Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson. But i don't fancy his chances against either of these.

He is also a coach on the next tuf.

Yeah well done Bisping! :)

I love watching MMA these days, I am even getting into the technical floor work (I used to think it was boring).

Cant wait for silva on sat - that man is an animal! :)

I thought Franklin was staying at light heavy?

He might as well, because he has no chance of beating Silva, who has said he's moving back down again, or maybe he's just following Rich around, making him paranoid.

As for The Count, I can't see him having much chance against Ace or Dan.

To be honest I don't think many of the light heavies would have much of a chance against Silva if he went up to face them.

Notice how Silva didn't answer Rogan's question about whether he will fight again at light heavy? I think if Machida continues his run to the title and takes it then he will stay at middle weight or retire. If Machida gets beat however I think he will move up and have his own run at the belt.

This sort of makes me want to see Lyoto get beat!

I think its confirmed now

Don't forget if a interview is in print, and out on a shelf to read, it will be a month or so old.

Aye it is now confirmed - but don't forget your second link was quoting from Fighters Only, which was only citing him as a possible, not a definite - hence my post which was correct at the time :)

It will be interesting to see how well he does, both Franklin and Henderson are of a similar standard, both losing to the obvious opponents, so the Henderson/Franklin fight will be a good one to watch. *Reaches for popcorn*

Totally Agree.

I can't see Franklin ever holding a belt again as the competition is too great now and Anderson Silva showed twice how easy it was to beat him with regular use of the Thai clinch. He hasn't got the chin to take heavy shots and I think its a case now with him that a win against a big name fighter will be down to luck.

Why is it that when the UFC comes to the UK, they always throw in a clown or two to fight on the card? We had this fat guy who somehow I don't know how managed to get a fight when he obviously only went to the gym to mop the floors. Other UK events have these usless guys from places like Co. Antrim etc who nobody ever heard off. For the number of top quality fighters in the UFC, they could have put on a better card. How about they put the UFC92 card on for the next British event.
