NFL in london

Just got an email saying i've been successful in the 2nd ballot. They go on sale on 27th June, will have to make sure i'm quick.
 
The NFL Europe guy just said on Five that an extra few thousand tickets have been released and go on sale at Ticketmaster at 10am this morning.
 
its crap for the most expensive stadium in the world (if it still is). Pound for pound the millenium stadium is a lot lot better.
 
So with it been so close are any of you getting exited :D. Who are you going to support and have any of you got the tickets to the official tailgate party? Also, is anyone going down the the NO Fest on the 24th/25th? I'll be down there with my #26 McAllister jersey on.

Have any of your tickets arrived yet? It's less that 2 weeks away now and I've not received mine. I'm sure they'll come - I'm just paranoid about these things!
 
Nice to see lots of people here going. I was lucky and got my tickets in the 1st phase. 8 of us going from work should be great. Enjoye dlast year but the weather was a bit of a downer, hopefuly it doesnt rain this time.

Got mine today, along with tailgate tickets. Agree about the weather - lets hope it is better than last year!
 
Could anyone explain how american football works in a really simple way? :)

I am of to see the Patriots play on Sunday and don't really know how it all works!

Might seem like a lot of info, but very good guide.

I mean the very basics are you have >

2 Teams :) with 3 units Offence / Defence / Special Teams. Within these units teams rotate various groupings of personnel

Basicaly the Offence when in possession of the ball have 4 plays to make 10 yards. Once they make 10 yards or more then its back to another 4 plays to make another 10 yards or more.

But more often than not if the 10 yards are not made on 3 plays the 4th play will either be a Field Goal Attempt (if in range) or a punt to the opposition (if not in range) Then the oppositions Offence would come on the field and attempt the same thing with the intention of getting the ball in to the endzone via a pass or run.

Touchdowns (Getting the ball to break the plane of the endzone) 6 points
Extra Point (kicking between the posts after scoring a TD) 1 point
Field Goals 3 points
safety 2 points (when a player is tackled in their own endzone)

Or they will "go for it" (usually if it's only a few inches short of 1st down)
