Hi all, was going to get the Gainward ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) however they went out of stock before i got chance to pick one up.

Im currently running on a very broken over heating 1900xt 512mb that i need to upgrade sooner rather than later.

Im not playing new games. It would be nice to run COD4 nicely though and maybe Fallout 3 (if i decide to get it for the pc as well as the 360)

I have around £70 to spend but would be happy at less also i cant use ebay has to be a new card.

Thanks.

can get a new 8800GT for around that price if you shop around.

good card and very ideal for what you want.

8800GT/9800GT's can be had for ~£70, far better than the 3850/4670.

+1 (Kind of obvious given my post above)

If you want to save money do as gurusan suggested and check the members market for a second hand card, being that a lot of people here upgrade so often you may well be able to get one with a bit of it's warranty left.

I think it would be foolish to get a 3850 Pro over an 8800GT for the sake of £15 seeing as you said you had £70-ish to spend.

Remember, as you can OC a 3850 you can also OC an 8800.

If you're even going to consider a 3850 you can forget about applying any AA as that will kill it's performance dead.

Don't get caught up in all the talk about the 4850, that is a completely different technology to the 3850 series, which in my opinion never worked as it should.

All in all, it's just my opinion, so wait for some more and check some reviews.

*edit*

If you must have a brand new card get this one, not the Gainward:

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 512MB

I'd be quick though.
