digital things have been stolenz, oh noez!![]()
Thanks mate, im just waiting on seeing what blizzard do, they are investigating. If i dont get my stuff back though i wont be playing anymore. Checked this morning, they even stole my daughters gold on another server, she had levelled to about 55 solo and had about 150g of her own.
One thing I will say about blizzard, they keep tons of backups of stuff.I hate the way people use the word "Hacked" to basically cover "unauthorised access" - there is a big difference.
If it was possible to hack a WOW account why do you think they stopped at your account?
If a hack actually exists then it will be all or nothing to the "hackers" and they will have access to all accounts and would be moving through them from the account called "A" through to "Zzzzzzzzzzzz".
This however isn't happening and only one account has been compromised.
Even if we assume that every single person who says their account has been "hacked" we are still talking an extremely small percentage - this once again indicates that there is no hacking going on.
So it really leaves only a few options:
1. Your account details have become compromised - either somebody else knows them and has used them. You have a keylogger on your machine or similar. You've been phished. Somebody has guessed your username/password combination.
2. It is an inside job - somebody at Blizzard has done it.
That really is about it.
It's the same when we see "My Paypal account" or "My EBay account" has been hacked or "My MSN account....."
If it was possible to hack then a lot more accounts would be being attacked.
Buying gold/power-levelling?

Just treat it as a sign from god to stop wasting your life on it.
Sorry, whats the difference between me playing WOW for 5 or 6 hours a week to you playing your XBOX a huge amount?
Why dont you stop wasting your life playing on your xbox? Or wasting your life trolling internet forums.

Yeah you should get it all back, it just may take a little time, but I would think it will be sorted in time for WotLK.
I’ve known a few people this has happened to and they’ve got it back eventually, although when one of our officers got hacked we didn’t get back what was taken from the guild bank, but that’s fair enough really!
A blizzard authenticator definitely sounds like a good plan going forward, I’m pretty confident nobody will be able to access my account but I might get one any way, would make WoW more secure than my online bank account…
