On a cruise ship that is, not in a dinghy :)

Myself and my gf are thinking of going to NY and then into Canada next year, and I'm thinking of sailing over there and flying back. A direct crossing is 6 days but I'm seen some 10-14 day crossings from Europe that look good too.

Just wondering if anyone's ever done it, what they thought of the crossing and ship etc. We're looking to go in November, so it's not going to be warm I shouldn't think!

Well I've done a bit of it in a tall ship, and that was from the Azores upwards to Ireland, does that count? :P

Awesome experience tbh. 9 days - some rough, some calm, lots of hard physical work to do on board but exhilarating. Sadly the transatlantic voyages take rather longer at 20 days or so - though I would LOVE to do one.
