Poll please passing don. :)

I like the US version so much more than the UK. I think its funnier and there seems to be a lot more to the charcaters and their interaction with other the other characters.

US version for following reasons:-

  • Funnier
  • More Episodes
  • Dwight Schrute
  • Michael Scott
  • Pam Beesley (one fine woman!!)

I love UK as the humor is more "me" but I've seen them too many times and it's never getting me like US version does! :D

The US version! It's my favourite comedy show ever, there's never a bad episode and it constantly makes me laugh my ass off.

The UK version is a bit different, it's a lot more dry, I do like it but it's well below US.

I'm pretty surprised by some of the comments. I've seen all the UK episodes and most of the first 2 seasons of the US version. Whilst the US version is pretty funny, Ricky Gervais pulled out one of the best sitcoms i've seen with the original office.

The UK version is a level above the US version. Whilst still a good situational comedy, it lacks the realism and rawness of the original. The characters are a lot more cartoon like, and less well rounded compared to the UK version.

Perhaps this is what makes the US version more accessible to the masses.

at first, i though uk for sure, but because of the sheer amount of episodes, the character development in the us series has been amazing

i'd be more excited about a uk 'special' episode (ie a comeback one) than a us one, but i prefer the us one and so does the gf, one of the few shows that i'm excited to watch now

I haven't seen all the UK or US series, just episodes from all and it is quite tough to say which is better.

The UK is the original and as previously said is drier and more attuned to the "British sense of humour". The US one has more obvious characters and well rounded so that it appeals to many people, which is what makes it funny.

However, the US ones haven't particularly stood out from each other for me. They are all funny but using the same jokes/lines as some of the British series...

Whereas the UK has so many individual, classic episodes. Such as the Ricky dancing bit which is so well known.

Also the funniest thing in the office is how its intentionally meant to be "uncomfortable" viewing, like when he makes a complete social jackass of himself. This doesn't happen to the extent in the US version as the UK imo.

Both are still cracking though!

There both great and the UK one was and is still one of the best sitcoms I have ever seen.

But the US gets me in stiches every time.

The best episode ever is when 'tuna' chucks another guys phone up on the floating cieling and keeps ringing it.

Or when Dwight Schrute takes that fat lacie out in a field and makes her walk home to make her lose weight.

I wish I was more like Dwight.

I do love Steve Carell, but there's something about Ricky Gervais' original that just tickles me in the right place. I think it's just pure genius, and although the US version is good, the UK one is just in a different league in my opinion.

Loved the original and i love the US version as well. Didnt like the first couple of US episodes, following the original so closely was pointless, as soon as they went off in their own direction it got loads better. It (US) is more mainstream and played for laughs but it really is a great show, the theme tune is especially good :).

The UK version is the best, it's original and legit. The US version just isn't funny, I watched 10 minutes and it's not the same. You can try and recreate Gareth, David and Tim, but it's complete fail in my opinion.
