It was pretty obvious to anyone with the slightest in economics education that a big bust was coming. The world, particularly the west, has been living off credit for far too long. The banks have got in such a mess. They've basically got "IOU" post-it notes stuck all over the place. And now they've realised that they will never actually get their money back for half of them!
