How not to paint double yellow lines

What would happen if you parked where the car was before? Would you still be on double lines?

No. Due to 'analness' of civil servants etc any discrepancy in the line would render it invalid. If for instance, I believe, there's a slight break in a double yellow you could park there legally.

Its nothing to do with Analness, the traffic regs make it plain what is lawful and what is not; this is to protect the public as much as anything else. Local authorities have to be deliberately stupid to **** it up (which they do regularly as they think they know best or have to be seen doing 'something). The skins who do the markings probably knew full well what they were doing; the likely reason is that the LCC section engineer hacked them off :D

Any more slagging off of the DfT signs branch and I will send Miss K round, she does not take prisoners

"I'm not a traffic expert but I would have stopped the yellow lines at one end of the car and started them again at the other end and then joined them together once the car had been removed."

You may not be a traffic expert, but you are an idiot.

He may as well have said:

"I'm not a road crossing expert, but I would have stopped at the road, and looked left and right, and then waited for the green man, and crossed the road before the green man changed to the red man"

Yea, thanks mate, really useful input. Much appreciated. Idiot. How on earth did that statement get into the article?

Might be obvious, but notheless, no need to be a ***** about it.

:D

If they left it like that, would that mean you are allowed to park on that street as long as your car fits the shape? :D
