Trouble is that I sit more 5 or 6 metres from the TV so I don't think that a wired one would work too well for me. Will any bluetooth headset work, or is it certain ones? Will the range on it be big enough to cover me?
My Socom and official headset arrived today. Anyone with me on their friends list want to help me try it out in XMB later, please.

My bad. Still had the logitech as main audio device. Switched to bt headset now. I could hear you fine. Later chats had internet stability issues(?)
I'd chat on IRC but my Mac client is burked.
OK, keep flashing an exclamation mark in top right hand corner and then says ended due to internet instability. I an see bars move in the audio settings menu so I think it works, will have to try in game later.

I would go for the official Sony PS3 bluetooth headset...so many to choose any recomendations?
No probs, just saw your camera view, but could not hear voice before it cut off. I have not seen the exclamation mark that flashes in top left corner before, could be internet issues at either end maybe?Sorry man. It's weird. I switch to the BT headset then we get internet issues. Surely it can't be my BT headset messing things up with my connection?
rp2000 - we really need to see it in situ to understand how it looks

i use a Astro mix amp http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/5/A40_MixAmp/ with a pair of Sennheiser HD600 Headphones and a sony Zoom mic which sits on my decktop http://www.sony.co.uk/product/pam-clip---tie-pin/ecm-cz10
Not cheap but i have no boom mic to keep moving and easy control of the sound with the mix amp
