Ummmm
This thing has 3 phase and 8 pin connector.
Comes with a dual slot cooler which tries to push the air out of the case.
Anyway
oh boy can this thing OC like a mad man out of the box. I saw a review on a website claiming to have hit around 785/1220 (approx) without doing anything.
So I figured I'd give it a try.
Tried a 'conservative' 750/1100. Runs Furmark fine for 30 min, passes ATI Artifact, and most of all, passes 2 hours of GRiD. Now I've got that sucker at 770/1200 and see what it can do. At this level 8xAA at 1680x1050 starts to feel smooth, just near the level of hitting 4xAA at around 685/1000.
It's a little more pricey than a 'bare' 4850 but I'd figured I slap on a custom heatsink/fan on it anyway so the price difference would actually be justified.
Anyone on the market for a 4850, give Palit 4850 Sonic a try!
Edit: oh and it's about 1.5cm shorter than my Sapphire 4850, so it actually fits very nicely in a smaller case like Antec 900.
