180.42 made me lose 10 FPS in far cry 2, which I can't get back

On 178.24 I got 60 fps average on the benchmark with my 9800gx2, I installed the new 180.42 ones because they are supposed to be optimised for FC2 and everything and basically it was just much worse, kept stuttering and the average fps was much lower. So i uninstalled them, did driver cleaner in safe mode and all that jazz, but now with the old drivers again, my average fps is around 50 fps with some weird stutters that werent there before... I've tried numerous times, using driver cleaner and uninstalling from the device managed to start on a clean slate with the old drivers but its the same result every time. Any ideas?

Actually I tried that too, same thing. I have actually managed to fix the problem though. I'm back on the old drivers and I was trying to think of anything else that could have changed. I remember that I had changed some config option so that the screen wouldnt stay blank when FC2 loaded on the new drivers. I changed that back and voila, better performance. So this leads me to ask, does 180.43 have that same glitch as .42 that makes the screen black when you start the game?

I get 20fps with minimum stuttering at 1920x1200..... ultra high everything, on the FC2 benchmark tool...... whats up with that ?
