Out of this week's releases, I wouldn't recommend this over Fable II, but I enjoyed this a load more than I'm now enjoying Far Cry 2. If you're faced with the choice - buy this!

chapter 1 down got the nice shiny black ps3 suitdidnt buy the pulse rifle is it any good? time to sleep
excellent quality/feel to this game
The PS3 suit looks sexy doesn't it?
The pulse rifle is good but it tears through ammo, especially in alternate fire mode!
Ok, it looks like the platform specific suits are a bit of a con, while they give you 10% armour and full slots they are level 5 suits, so ALLEGEDLY you cant swap them out for the higher armour level 4 suit (don't know if you can swap for the same level 5 one) so probably not worth it apart from the slots.

The green one is the platform specific one the red one is the scorpion suit which I believe is a preorder bonus from a certain retailer in the US (dont know about here) the scorpion suit is level 5 as well but has much better armour.

Hey guys what weapons do you prefer. Don't want to be upgrading something that's not worth upgrading.
Just got the plasma cutter and the pulse rifle but have most other weapons in the shop and ammo. I got 5 power nodes and just been upgrading my suit heath. Just started chapter 4

starting back into this beast in about 30 minutes. Game does feel a bit like Bioshock (only better) i mean i really liked Bioshock at the start as well but that fast became repetitive, hopefully this wont go down the same path.
The atmosphere is the best in a ps3 game ive played so far. And feels great to play this on a 42" screen. Control scheme i have no complaints with (surprising coming from me) Only got 2 trophies so far. Shame it doesnt support ingame SS grab (yet!) Might use me camera to take a couple of pics.

Might use me camera to take a couple of pics.Plasma cutter is pretty much the best gun in the game, I ditched two of my weapons and now am only carrying the plasma cutter and line gun. also carrying less weapons means you'll get more ammo drop for the guns you're actually using.
Before when I was carrying four weapons you'd get ammo for all four dropping which means I was constantly switching to less effective weapons.
ok thanks for that, its just that i have both suites and didn't know which one to use. btw the red suite is also available in the uk when u pre ordered
The controls in this are superb. Even though GoW touted as haing great controls, I could never fully get to grips with it - in this I have no problem.
First play through am going to stick with Plasma cutter, rifle and flame thrower. 2nd play through will be plasma cutter (obviously), line gun and that other saw thing. This way don't have as much to choose from when it comes to upgrading
This game is even creepy during the daytime which is great. Am plonked on my bean bag quite lose to my 37" screen and loving it, despite the jaggies showing through badly when close

GREAT game. Well worth the wait.
Can be very entertaining putting an enemy in stasis and casually removing their limbs.
How many chapters are in this game? I've just gone in to four I think.

I think there is 10-12
So let me get this right depending on what weapons you are carrying changes the type of ammo that drops?
If so that's flipping great

Yeah, it seems that way. When I got my pulse rifle, pulse rounds started dropping right away where as when I only had my plasma cutter only plasma rounds dropped.
