Northern Meet *unofficial thread*

It's been mentioned in the Southampton meet thread that us Northerners should also have a meet, which is a great idea, so just to get the ball rolling and some ideas etc, lets discuss in this thread.

I for one am interested now i have a nice car :D but due to work commitments i need plenty of notice so i can book the weekend off, so i personally would be looking at the beginning of next year now.

So, just to make some suggestions of places, i'd like to include a North Yorkshire moors meet, not only because of my location, but there are some GREAT driving roads there, some nice country pubs etc etc but ideally, we should make it a little more central so some of the southerners can make it, so the ideal location would be Manchester.

Stick your name down in this thread and if there's a good turnout, i'll sort out a proper thread for it.

Suggestions for other locations welcome too.

why central, the southeners had it in southampton, hardly central for all southerners, midlanders can sort themselves out, have it in the moors or the dales, go on

what and theres a law against who organises meets ?

the southern meet just gone wasnt organised by him, so why cant us northerners have our own little mini meet just like the southerners did ?

wez ignore them and do it. No other ****er is going to organise a northern meet otherwise.

Phate meant that cymatty organised the northern meet, and has done a very good job by all accounts for the last 3 years with a good route set out etc. It will be done for some time in may next year usually to coincide with some good weather.

I could not give a flying monkey if someone decided to organise a meet down south Ive organised a fair few ocuk orientated things but that does not mean anyone else cant have a go.

I was simply backing up phate as i thought he had a good point, he was not being rude and didn't warrant certain people throwing there toys out of the pram. CYMatty organises a really good meet a few times a year with a good route and usually a fairly large following.

nobody has said anything against the Members Meet

but as well as the Members meet we had a yorkshire mini meet last year (that i linked to) that was organised by AGW

and we had a southern meet as well that wasnt organised by him. So why all of a sudden does all meets have to be organised by him ?
 
I don't care who organises it :rolleyes: ;)

I'd probably be interested in going, if a southerner is allowed at a northern meet ;) If it's not *too* far north. Yesterday was fun :)

Not trying to stop you organising, but cymatty has done it the last few years and usually if someone has done it before well people will be more inclined to attend again. Could aim to set something up yourselves tho but now the crappy weather is setting in, might be worth putting off for a bit.
 
The only thing i would say is i think its a better idea if just a few people organise a few meets a year north and south because it keeps the numbers up. If 5 different people organise mini meets up north and then 5 members organise 5 different meets across the south they will all be relatively small which IMO ruins it slightly as its great to have a decent number.

But hey ho I'm not bothered ... ;)
