FIFA 09 - Game Discussion Thread

I thought there must be some button you could press when crossing as some people I play online seem to get a good cross in which isn't lobbed in the air.
 
i think crossing is quite good in 09 now im used to how it works, no one in RL gets perfect crosses every time like you did in 08, double tap cross pretty much was garenteed a goal.

when you cross dont hold a direction after its kicked as it will most times curl the ball well away from were u want it and your running player will miss it.

i agree , i normally use the double tap to whip a cross in most of the time it gets cleared but i have had a few goals from crosses
 
crossing is a complete waste of time for me, that and I haven't come close to scoring from a corner

Still can't score 1 on 1's, its pure luck I score against the keeper now

Ive found I score more 1 on 1's if I try not to actually direct the shot, just drilling it straight if running in off centre of goal :confused: wierd but score more like that than actually trying to place them or blast them into the corner.

Also crossing I agree is poor, only scored one decent goal from a corner and that was in the OcUK cup which was a early cross (holding one of the shoulder buttons and crossing) flew to the back post was a fantastic cross :)
 
So far I think the game is brilliant, it didn't cut it last year for me but this year it has definitely showed that it's the best football game available.

One problem i have with it is why I can't see the other players connection when doing a ranked quick match, it just seems really stupid to me. Why don't I have the option of a custom ranked match, where I can scroll through a list of available people to play with the best connection being at the top?

I think you can do this in the lobbies but no one joins them so it's pretty pointless.

Not sure but my keeper was runign for the ball then stoped 1 meter from it and a attacking forwards who was no where near it manger to run in and take it even though My keeper had stoped still looking at it for a tap in

yeah thats the sort of things i mean , sometimes players that should win the ball seem to pause and the oposition win the ball , very anoying :confused:
 
Having played as Arsenal for 2 easy seasons, decided to play as Morecambe, "the worst team in the english leagues" and move on upwards. Its absolutely fantastic challenge! After about 12 games im sitting on top and working on upgrading fitness coaches as my players were all red every game ;P

Managed to beat charlton which was freakin awesome!! a half star team beat a 3 star team :D

Cant get enough of this game!! :D
 
Top of my wish list for Fifa 2010 is the ability to save online replays. I've scored some simply stunning goals on XBL and it makes me die a little inside knowing I'll never see them again!

I'll cry if they don't include it!

As much as Id like the feature Im unsure how they would implement it. I wouldnt be happy as the opponent if someone decided to put a replay online and having to wait while we continued the match.

I guess saving it offline (unedited?) and then uploading it after the game would be the only way - still be a small delay though...

I liked it on PES08 how at the end of the game you could watch the game highlights, surely it can't be hard to implement this into FIFA and then be able to edit what you want to upload etc
