Northern Meet *unofficial thread*

Well, excuse me for trying to organise something, having not been on any meets from here, i'm not in the know on how things should be run, on talk photography forums, lots of people arange meets and a lot are succesful, i've arranged quite a few meets on there and all have gone to plan, different numbers attend each time but most important, we have a bloody good day every time.

If people are going to have a hissyfit because someone different is trying to organise something that never happens up here (North yorkshire moors) (Fair enough it does happen in Manchester), then i won't bother. Tom and I were talking about it last night over MSN and it was decided that something should be sorted out up north, so i decided i'd try and organise something. Manchester was mentioned becuase it gives some further south the opportunity to come up etc.

If i'm competing with CYmatty then i'll leave Manchester out of the equation and just organise a proper northern meet in the moors. If you're interested, stick your name down, if your not then keep out and don't spoil my thread.

There's no rules saying that i can't organise it.

Which is what everyone has said, but MrLOL has gone off on one and had a go at everyone that has mentioned that Cymatty has previously organised meets for the Midlands/North. :)

becuase you were implying he couldnt organise one because cymatty normally did it.

If you werent implying it, why mention it ?

I'm in for a North Yorkshire Moors meet. Let cymatty do the big northern one and we'll have our own North Eastern meet :) Probably get more Geordie lads in as it's a lot closer than Manchester.
 
realised that after i posted

post looks like i was referring to you, but i was referring to the people who posted that cymatty normally does meets.

Looks like there has been a big argument caused here so here is my 2 cents.

If people want another Manchester meet soon I am happy to organise it, if you guys want to organise a Newcastle way meet that is also cool with me.

However without wanting to be an ass the Manchester meet is like mine and AGW's baby, it has a good following and is now IMO perfectly organised (route etc) and dont want anything done that will damage its reputation or following. However I appreciate its a free world and people can do what they like. :)

I don't want to step on your toes Cymatty, hence i'm sorting it for more north now.

I'd also be intersted in attending a Manchester meet too :)

Cool well if you want to organise a North, North meet then I can organise another Manchester Meet spring 09.

This way we should gt good attendance at both. :)
 
I'll come, Manchester/Yorkshire/Teeside, don't mind:)

Last one Cymatty arranged was great, was it Sowerby Bridge with that awesome road?
 
i'll sort a date out on Thursday, need to book a weekend off for it but it'll be Feb/ March now i think, gives plenty of time to plan stuff :)
 
im interested, cant confirm anything at this time though, hell i might get fired and end up back in lynn so attending a northern meet would be a bit of a stretch then
