Just a quick question about Sky+ (hopefully someone has already done this)

I've just upgraded to a new Sky HD box, got it off the bay so I don't owe
Sky anything for it.
Now my old Sky+ box is still working fine so I was thinking I could put the Sky+ box in the bedroom and replace the standard Sky box then I will use the new HD box downstairs.

Do Sky charge for having the second Sky+ box, I'm already paying them £48 a month to them and I don't really want to pay anymore.

You will probably need to phone and get the extra Sky+ box activated for multiroom. Not sure how much, if any, they will charge though.

Nah mate they wont charge you for swapping the standard box over to a sky+ just £10 for each additonal viewing card.

You'll need to give them a phone though and they will set the sky+ features up.

Cheers for that, that was the answer I was hoping for. I knew they relaxed their Sky+ Sub's a while back but wasn't sure to what extent. I suppose it'll be 20 mins on the phone to them as it always was.

Thanks again.

As far as I know it's still £10 a month for the Sky+....else it just works as a Sky box ie. no recording, playback etc.

You will need to pay extra to make the HD box receive HD else it will just be a Sky+ box, and extra to make the Sky+ have Sky+ functionality and 2 cables to it too :(

Dont strictly need the HD mix sub. You can still get BBC HD, C4HD and Luxe HD for free

Thats what I'm doing for now Nymins, Sky are getting enough money out of me as it is.

You don't have to pay a sub for Sky+ if you subscribe to a premium package (sports in my case) they drop the £10 surcharge.
I was just wondering if they charged £10 if I decide to use my old Sky+ box to replace a standard second box that I have.
