Crime number is a good thing to have! And also, you never know it might have fallen out your pocket and some old woman has handed it in, even though that is a really really really small chance.
 
afaik, you're supposed to. You'll get your crime number for covering you against your cards being used. But also if you had a drivers license in it you're supposed to alert the police.
 
I would report it regardless...Even if I was told NOT to report it to the police. :p

Besides, might be worth telling your bank your wallet has gone, along with your card, as then they know that any money going out now, will not be you.

See now....I've only been putting my wallet in my back pocket for the last year or so...Just cause it's so much more comfy than my front pocket.

But it's just so damn easy to grab it out of the back pocket compared to the front.
 
I usually have it in my front pocket, purely for this reason, but my wallet was annoyingly fat last night, so into the back pocket it went, sod's law really :(

Annoying fact was that there was absolutely no cash in it at all, so whoever stole it made off with nothing, it's just a huge inconvenience to me. Plus i'll have to pay to get a duplicate Uni card and Drivers license.
 
Why not report it? It won't do any harm.

Plus you never know, they might have had some drunken guy in who had a wallet which didn't match his identity and kept it to one side (highly unlikely but you never know :p)

A classic mistake!

I always laugh when I see peoples wallets in their back pockets. Asking for trouble IMHO. I went up to a girl in a club in camden the other week and told her someone will nick her phone if shes not careful, it was really hanging out of her back pocket.

Sorry it happened though.
 
My gf was kind enough to point this out to me on friday. "Put your wallet in your front pocket or it'll get nicked, haven't you seen the Real Hustle?!"
 
Sorry if im telling you to suck eggs here but...

Have you tried phoning around the places you went? It could have fallen out and you never know there are some nice people in the world who might have handed it in.
 
It was fat as I had loads of fliers in it.

I know which club I lost it in, and my mate is the DJ there, so obviously if it had been handed in I would have got it back by now. So either someone stole it from my pocket, or it fell out and someone stole it off the floor :(
