Well it took a long time but i finally got it. Ill be starting in early January and i cant wait:D
Heres a vid of my new job http://uk.youtube.com/shinycapstar

Im gonna be doing Basic training that last 16 weeks then you do your trade training which for me will be 28 weeks cause ill be a guard:)

But what a cool job title from a warehouse operative to a Guardsman:cool:

Description - So what's a Guardsman do?
As a Guardsman you will be first and foremost an Infantry Soldier, trained to the highest standards in the use of modern weapons and equipment available to the Army. A Guardsman is required to help keep the peace by acting in support of a police force, or working for the Untied Nations, patrol in the jungle & desert and fight conventional wars on today's modern battlefield. It is likely that you will be involved in the fight against terrorism in the more notorious parts of Northern Ireland. You would receive special training as part of a close-knit 4 man team before deploying on operations with your Battalion. You are personal bodyguards of HM The Queen and have the privilege of guarding the Royal Palaces in London and Windsor, taking part in major State Ceremonial Duties such as Trooping the Colour, The State Opening of Parliament and State Visits.

Anyway im over the moon, wish me luck in my new job (few months yet) and im gonna give it my all.

I got a new job a few weeks ago too! Hope you enjoy it as much as you're looking forward to it :)

Which Guards will you be in?

Old boss of mine used to be a Captain in the Welsh Guards. Not sure about the fighting for the UN (the Welsh Guards had the advantage of leek talkers when the Bosnians and Serbs could hear all the NATO radio traffic in that conflict) but the social life at the Palace and St James' is a riot.
