You wont get a hdmi chipset, currently they don't fit them to repairs. I kinda like the red lights, I think they should have been red instead of green.

They should send out a new model as a replacement? Even if they don't it will likely be quieter than the one I had as mine made a right racket (compared to friends consoles).

Nah, not a problem... seeing as I have to RMA my screen as well I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway

Snap! I am also 1y11m and my xbox RROD'd yesterday.
Typical as I had arranged for all the boys to come over for a rock band session

AFAIK, the newer 175W Falcon's ,which the 60Gb models are, have a much better thermal design etc, and it's very rare for the RROD to happen.. however, that aside, DVD failures are the next chink in the armour..
My Falcon died with RROD at 10 months old last week. Luckily I got it exchanged at the store I purchased it from even though they tried fobbing me off.

Is it just me or is there a higher than average number of 'my 360 is borked' threads over the last few days? I'm not suggesting some kind of conspiracy, but perhaps when all the big hitters start coming out for Christmas the boxes get a lot more use?
Bought mine in dec 06, died last week, thats about 1 yr 10 months? Let me know how you get on I'm gonna call them up tomorrow I think
Not in my case, mine's been played a ridiculous amount most days since I got it just after Christmas last year
The Falcon one actually died quicker than my original 360 which lasted 1 year 2 months.
