Up Working Late

That’s three nights this week I have been up writing reports till silly hours. I love my job but this sucks.

This brings back memories of being a student with deadlines in and several essays to crack out. Only no chance of a lie in tomorrow.

Got to love short notice jobs where it turns out all the data and current calculations are questionable. I have spent longer going through existing info and correcting it than actually writing the thing. Doesn’t help that the spreadsheets are like looking into the matix.

Anyone else get this? I may get some paid overtime but unlikely.

I'm working as well but I run my own business so it doesn't bother me. I am better at working at night for some reason.

I'm working as well, on my jack jones. I am running reports and monitoring the Network for our clients. The upside is that we have a 42" LCD so I am watching a few films as well. :)

Not working late but working for the next 12 days without a day off now, kinda my own fault as I'd decided a weekend would be best to impliment a new project I've been doing, I'd swap working late for a day off!

Time Management needs to be your priority. If they are asking you to work late at home tell them no. Do it in your scheduled working hours only or seek recompense for the hours worked. Do you look after your own time sheets?? Is there any other time of day that you could have done it? Unless you're getting paid mega bucks i'd tell them where to stick it.

Time management and project management are high on the list. Only got the project a few days ago but one of those asap deadlines. Fortunatly for the company and unfortunately for me i care enough to get it done at whatever cost. I have no complaints about the pay and all the hours will be logged. May get a couple back as overtime. I have now taken something that didnt work, made it work, it looks right so i am happy.

According to law, working hours etc, "If you're an adult worker you usually have the right to a break of at least 11 hours between working days. A young worker has a right to a break of at least 12 hours between working days."
Even if you are renumerated, draw the line between health and money, At the end of the day, dont be exploited - if you are unfortunate enough to be ill as a result, they're quick to forgot your efforts and sh@ft you at the earliest conveniece to the company.
