Hi Guys.

Right i have an 02 plate 325ci Convertible. its just done 66k miles now.

What warranty could i look into getting for it?

Im looking for peoples opinions on warranty schemes they have used them sevles and such.

Cheers

I've got a Warranty Direct Warranty on my BMW Z4, no complaints.

My hood motor went last year and they picked up the £900 bill with no hassles.

I love having to take time out to explain obvious things to people not involved with the questions.

Sigh.

How long exactly do you have to have a policy with them before they will honour repairs?

No they wont cover your 320i.

You will notice I said 320i. Datamonkey has a 325i. Therefore it's obvious to anyone who can read that my comment was aimed at Tom|nbk, pre-empting his next question, and not the OP.

Sorry for the snappy reply but in a world of common sense this reply should not have been neccesary.

Maybe you should let people ask questions before you answer them, and then it wouldn't get so confusing?

It's hardly confusing is it? It quite clearly says 325i in the OP and 320i in my post, making it clear to anyone with a rudimentry grasp of English that I was not refering to the OP's car.

Fox are you? made any claims with them?

Have a WD policy on the 530d. I've made one claim - it was a straightforward fuel pump failiure. They tried to argue their way out of it saying only parts listed on the policy were covered. I explained the pump was specifically mentioned then they said oh no sir, thats only for petrol cars. So I asked why the same section had glowplugs and they gave in.

Daft really, after that they paid up fine.

Well i got a result from them, they called back today offering full Luxury Care, even though my car is past the limits initially set by it. £370 for the year with franchise dealer repairs. i want to be able to take it to bmw when things go wrong.

Dont think thats a bad deal.

Like everything the reviews are mostly good when looking around, a few where they have messed people around making claims but there you go. Most warranty companies will argue paying out if they can.

So full luxury care for the year £370 repairs at dealership of my choice.

:D

I got phoned up by AA warranty the other day, I dont know where from though, and they offered me what appears to be the same cover as Warranty Direct, premium cover with wear and tear 50quid excess and that for 280quid a year, whereas warranty direct wanted something like £450. Worth a look if anyone is looking for piece of mind.

SoliD

The luxury care from WD has no excess :D and is valid on my car for 30k miles or the year, im not going to be doing 30k miles in the year but there we go lol.

Also if you were to call WD today i bet they would do a decent price, its the end of the month and their looking to up their sales figures. ;) could be worth a try.
