Fable 2

Just got it, think it's fantastic so far (just come out of the old guild in the tomb for the first time-brings back memories of the first Fable game :)).

How long is the main story just out of interest?

A few hours long, it was a disappointing length. But I recconmend you put as much time into the side quests and the other features of the game while slowly making your way through the main quest.

I also might add your bound to play the game more than once, I'm already into my 2nd run through and still throughly enjoying it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game thus far.
Done quite a few side quests and got some business and rent going.

Sadly, the main story is so so short :(
Could be done within a few hours if you do only the main quest.

Yeah I wish I never blasted through the main quest, great little game but I havent gone back to it since completing the main quest. :(

Special mention must go to the voice acting, Stephen Fry is great in it.

I dunno if this has been mentioned. but voices i recognise..

Theresa - The Mother in My Family on BBC
Common Bandit voice - The guy in Lock stock and Two Smoking Barrels who gets shot in the neck
Dodgy guy in old town near the start - Bricktop from snatch.

A couple more a recognise. but cant name off the top of my head right now

Meh, think I'll drill through it once, taking a fair amount of time to see as much as possible, then take it back to the store and get Fallout. I've never been somebody who could play through a game twice; can't watch films or read books twice either.

Has anyone else got there game specific hero doll from the shooting gallery yet? You can win more than once but you'll only ever win the same doll in your game and there are 5 to collect.
There's an achievement for trading between gamers and holding all 5 at one time.

I got a Theresa Doll, anyone else got anything and fancy a trade? One of us (of course I'd vote me!) cold hold all of them until we've got all 5 and then I'll gift them all on to the next person. Or.. I could get a 2nd doll and trade for anything I don't have.

What's the best way to make money apart from Blacksmithing and renting buildings? (I'm currently level 4 Blacksmith and am renting out a 1 star house).

It happens a bit later on, but the bartending work is the easiest way to get money from a job. Its much more preditable than any of the other work and you can easily get up a 10x multiplyer.

After you have some cash, just start buying up all the little stalls around; you can also buy the whole gypsy town for about 15k coins. The more you spend on a property, the more it will give back to you but I've found buying the cheaper stuff first just helps you get the steady income.

Do you lose the ability to do anything you could do before? The Hero waiting for you to depart on the ship implies you should do everything you need to before embarking.

From what I have seen there are 3 different quests which can only be done before you go away. If you just jump on the ship then they get abandoned and some towns might change.

Is this similar to Oblivion by any chance, it does look good :)

It is good, But i wouldn't say it's like oblivion. Only similarity is the world you run around in outside of towns.

It's a very different game. I actually prefer it, which is something I didn't think I would do, as Oblivion is one of my faves. As is fable 1 though
