But yeah, cymatty does the booking of the restaurant, sorted the original (and new route, I just like typing/updating the thread... mainly because Si can't be bothered.

Exactly, so go ahead. Don't let Phails opinions have any bearing on your ability to organise a meet should you wish to do so :)

Totally can't see what all the fuss is about myself.

Thanks for your kind words lol, i don't intend on it affecting it.

there is no fuss now, it's all sorted lol.

You know the moors quite well don't you Tom, you can help me sort a route if you like.

The only road I know is the one to Whitby and that gets quite busy so can't really have a hoon. :(

The coast road aswell :(

I might be up for it depending on whats happening around the time (live near Redcar).

Best bet might be up the Helmsley road to Helmsley (just have to watch out for the bikers) and then back across the Moor road from Hutton Le Hole to Castleton, luckily the Lion Inn is on that road. ;)

This thread is doomed to failure. To successfully organise a meet, the last thing you do is make a post stating that you're thinking about a meet and asking for everyones input on dates and locations.

Everyone disagrees, the thread fails and the meet doesn't happen.

To successfully organise a meet, you the organiser state a suitable date, time and location with plenty of notice (6 weeks+). You stick to your guns. The meet works.

Indeed, even take the route yourself, organize guides and landmarks that people can follow if they have no sense of direction. Even ring the pub and let them know that x ammount are coming and they can keep some tables spare.

I tried that once. People still got lost :D

This doesn't work either. The pub staff still looked shocked/worried as we walked through the door!

I wasn't going to bite...

I did not say the OP was incapable of arranging a meet, or anyone else for that matter. I wasn't sure if the OP was aware of the usual arrangements that Si makes...which, to be honest...are pretty much perfected.

I couldn't give a toss is the OP wants to arrange a meet if he likes, there's nothing to say he can't, or he shouldn't. All my post meant was to bear in mind that Cymatty normally does the Manchester meet so it could clash with whatever he has planned.

Oh, and with going and calling me "Phail"....do not forget who ran the last RR and as far as I can remember there were not any complaints of how the day went

You came across really badly, he wanted to organise a meet, and you stormed in and ****ed all over his bonfire for no reason other than the fact your mate has organised the last few meets within 100 miles of that area (Last time I checked Manchester Meets were not held in Yorkshire).

Whilst everyone is grateful you 'ran' the RR meet (I say 'ran' - the arrangements are identical every year and Conanius had already booked it so arguably its less effort than one of these meets) it doesn't mean you can post in the way you did :)

Fox, get a grip?

I 'stormed' in? by saying that Simon normally organises them?...no

posting saying "dude, don't bother, it'll be **** because you've never done it before and Simon always does it" - would be more along the lines of storming in.

And it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference if you organised the meets or Simon, how I socialise with Simon (which aside from the meets is nil) did not affect why I posted at all.

And last time I checked, he mentioned Manchester as a possible location.

Since when was it a contest of who does the most work at the meets?

Last time I checked we all went to have a good day out regardless if a lot of work is needed, either way it pays off. It's an open based discussed forum, I did not post with the intent of yelling at the OP saying he has no hope in hell of organising a decent meet because my bestest best friend normally does them....it was so the OP was aware of the 'usual' arrangements so nothing clashed.
