Every time I have heard you speak about the 535, you had nothing but contempt for it, as it is 'pointless' in that it gives you a V8 that has been strangled and that is very heavy, and you went on to praise the 540 every time...how come you changed your view all of a sudden?
Becuase it's done 183k miles and will probably cost another £3495 to keep nice for the next year or two but hey, more fun than a Focus that never breaks

My view on the 535i is that unless its very cheap, its pointless, as it offers the performance of a 530 for the running costs of a 540.
This car, however, is 3.5k. So who cares?

Depends what I could afford running costs rise;
Probably an MX5, if running costs weren't an issue I'd also consider a 5 series, a Jag XJ8/R or maybe a Porsche 944.
