New Megane Coupe

Just got an email from Renault...I guess due to having signed up for the World Series ages ago...anyway they just sent me an email about the Megane Coupe...

It looks like they've finally managed to make the back of the car look half decent, instead of the godawful one that's been going on for years.

Specs of the car. 180bhp from the 2.0 with 8.3s to 60...not sure that's all that good really, I guess that'll work well, but the 1.6... with 100bhp...in a big heavy modern car...makes it a bit slow really.

Meh...looks chunky as ever. To me, coupes should have an element of sleekness and not lardy.

The front looks horrid. The back looks like an Astra.

And 8.3 to 60 is indeed slow from 180bhp.

They want to be aiming for mid 7's with that engine.

I'm not a fan of most of Renault's range, but I'm sure they could have made it better than it is performance-wise at least.

As for the looks, it seems similar to the Astra and the Scirocco to be honest, bulky modern hatch.

So it's slow and looks like a new Scirrocco combined with a new shaped subaru/Astra and has a horrible looking front end.

The Trophee version however, is win! The Megan Cup has always been good fun to watch too.

Looks like a hatchback to me and an ugly one at that.
