I dunno how they can get away with it really.

I got a quote of 601 for my Accord 2.0ise which is fine for me in my second year of driving...

but unfortunately i can only afford to pay it monthly.. and the cost...

wait for it....

801.32p !!

200 quid increase in price just cos i cant pay it in one lump. How do they justify this major increase? buggers :(

It's called interest. It tends to be what you pay when you "borrow" money.

I'd suggest taking it out on a credit card or the like, it is likely you will get a better rate, as 33% APR is rather high.

Argh crap i never even thought about that. I had to put it on my Mothers card anyway cos ive just got a bog standard cashcard account at the minute due to me being poo with money.

wish id never mentioned it on here now cos i coulda saved myself money no doubt and now im gutted cos i rushed into it :(

it was the lowest quote at admiral and bell compared to other places, but the additional cost incurred stung a bit.

bugger

£200 over the 12months isn't the end of the world. £17 a month or something like that?

You could cancel and pay nothing within the first 2 weeks, however. (fairly confident it's 2 weeks?)

You have a 14 day cooling off period with insurance policies, you can cancel for any reason without charge.

its a 10 month bonus accellerator jobby. so its 10 month. 80 quid a month payment.

I can cancel but that incurs a 20 quid charge. Ill have a little think over it today. My mother would probably put it on her credit card which i would pay off at a lesser rate.

It stings a bit but ive managed to get fully comp cover for about 60 quid less than i paid last year for tpft. which isnt really bad in that respect :)

I've been looking at quotes and stuff and it's truely silly how much it will drop if I have a years NCB on the mini.

TPFT this year will be around £1150 or so, possibly a bit less. Fully comp with 1NCB and aged 18 it will be about half that :(

What drops it most for me is having a second named driver on it!, I used my ex girlfriends mother for it last year, and I used her for it again this year lol :D

I was 23 when I first got my car, a 2.0ise... which aint no crumby hatchback 1 litre that i thought would be super cheap. Turned out my accord cost me about 20 quid more than a 1 litre corsa. with no power steering or anything

I got cruise control, ac, eleccy windows , sunroof and mirrors etc.

Check out bigger less popular young people cars :)
