BBC Issue apology over Ross/Brand 'Prank'

Its about time we had some quality writing brought back to the BBC.
I was thinking that just the other day, watching open all hours, only fools and horses and porridge on gold and thought "omg whatever happened to shows of this caliber".

so ? thats her private life. do/did you tell your grandparents who you sleep with? and if you do do you tell them infront of loads of people ?

Nevertheless sleeping with someone in the public eye is fairly retarded if you are that concerned about it coming out. Surely that is obvious?

*especially sleeping with someone like Brand. He's the biggest lad going! Like a guy would brag down the pub, Brand brags live on TV :p

It's obvious the older generation can't handle this generations humour. Their whole lives have been based around a boring war that you never hear the end of

Older generation - Source ?

Boring war - That has to be the most disrespectful, irrelevant and immature comment in the entire thread

This generations humour - +1 to the list of those who are still missing the point :o

So why didn't she, the Sachs family or the daily mail get upset the week before (11/10/2008) when Brand made comments about her during the show with David Baddiel?

I wonder how many of the people here hating Russell never liked him or his humour.

I think he's awesome, Love his jokes, And I also thought this show was in keeping with his sense of humour.

If you have never liked brand, then you would hate what he's done obviously, and your arguments are more to do with not liking his brand of humour rather than hating this particular joke.

I'll admit, I cringed when listening to it. But I cringe often when hearing his dark humour, But that's what Russell Brand is about.

I'd be 100% exactly the same even if it was fav comedian, the fact I dislike them both is insignificant to me

The bottom line with this whole event isnt the humour nor the comics, its the simple fact that its totally unacceptable and a breach of the use of a phone to make such lewd comments, whether its funny or not funny is totally irrelevant, its also irrelevant who made the calls, its just plain wrong

Oh get over yourself.

The morale of all of my posts in this thread have been to start taking comments others say with a pinch of salt.

Sticks and stones and all that ... ? Surely you old ******* can understand that (being around when Jesus was here, etc) ;)

Sorry you've totally lost me.

Go to who's house and do what to them??

them saying brand had slept with his granddaughter wasnt the only offensive things they said on the show

they also 'joked' that they should go to andrew sachs house and **** him

how nice of them

Poor sach, bet he was terrified :p

Saying that, i'd be pretty miffed if Rossy wanted some bum love.

I'm stepping out of this thread anyway as it seems to be getting a bit heated and i'm scared it'll start WW3. (and then my grandkids will not be able to sleep with celebrities because i'll be a famous hero)
